Business engages in bait and switch tactics regarding purchasing used electronics.

Business reply on Google

Hi Junkit, thanks for the review. I can assure we buy all types of electronics and not just 1 year old devices as you can see it on our website. That being said we are a business and all the items you brought in was quite old and didn’t have much value in the preowned electronics market for which we can make a payout. However we did offer free recycling as it’s clearly specified on our website.

Staff displayed a rude attitude during a price inquiry.

Business reply on Google

Hey Egris, I think you have the wrong store unfortunately. I haven't gotten any calls about NBA Street today or yesterday, and there's not a pawn shop next door to us. If you want to give me a call at +17372201794 we can discuss what happened and I can try to figure out if this was something that happened at a store in Austin or not and pass along the details to the store you called. Just ask for Zach.

The business offers low buyback prices and high resale prices.

Business reply on Google

Hi Miky, not sure when you stopped by as I have no record of you at our location, but we do our best to pay top dollar for items within reason. We still have to be able to re-sell them and keep the business running. I am sorry you were disappointed, but without any record of you visiting our store and getting an offer, I cannot see where we might be able to improve. Please reach out to tx07@paymore.com if you'd like to discuss further.

Staff refused to purchase functional hardware due to poor product knowledge.

Business reply on Google

Hi Michael, When it comes to docking stations we typically don't purchase them at all unless they are brand new in the original packaging due to them having a very low re-sale value and a longer holding cost associated with them. In addition, Dell docks are very common as we are in Dell country in Austin and the company provides them for free to their staff and do not request them back. The mClassic is a niche upscaling item that does not re-sell well as 4K upscalers are a dime a dozen nowadays, so there's not much value in that item. As far as monitors go, just because we have some models for sale does not mean we are always purchasing them. Monitors can only be sold locally as our shipping insurance does not cover damage in transit and we do not have the proper materials to ship them safely. In addition, we have customers trying to sell monitors every day, but almost no one coming in to buy them, we cannot purchase massive amounts of monitors just for all of them to sit for anywhere from 3 to 12 months before a sale, if they even sell. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with this specific staff member, but this is no reason to claim we "don't know the value of actual utility hard

Business refuses to accept old devices despite advertising otherwise.

Business reply on Google

Hi, I don't see your name or any information in our system. Not sure what location you visited, but it wasn't this one. We do take old devices, but we cannot always pay for older devices. If the device is too old or holds no re-sale value, we cannot purchase it, but we can recycle it at no cost to you. We are not a charity business and cannot just hand out cash for anything someone brings in, we wouldn't be able to continue to support our local community if we purchased items that we cannot sell.

Staff refused to evaluate items and offered low buyback prices.

Business reply on Google

Hi Raul! As you said, we do TAKE all computer parts, but we cannot guarantee we will BUY all computer parts. If the devices are too old or too low value, there is little to no re-sale value and we cannot purchase it. We are a business and to keep serving the community at large we have to be able to sell the items we buy. In the case of your PC, it was an older system with a GTX 1060 3GB and an older processor, the motherboard chipset indicated it was not supported by windows 11, meaning it is not something that holds enough value for us to re-sell. For the games, you were paid $27 for 3 loose 3DS games and 3 loose switch games . We paid you much more than other companies would in cash and we are going to sell those games for much lower than other companies like GameStop. I understand you were frustrated by the situation, but our staff did their best to get you the best cash value for the items we could buy and offered free recycling for your older PC. I would appreciate you giving one of our locations another visit sometime and we can see what we can do to provide you a better experience with PayMore!

Order pickup denied due to ID and address verification issues.

Business reply on Google

Hi Julian, these are all security measures to verify that you are the correct person picking up the item and that we are protected in case of any issues with your banking institution or shopify. In this case, your ID did not match with the address on the order, so there were addition verification steps necessary to verify your identity. If this were a situation of someone else trying to pick up your order, you would want us to do these things to make sure you got your item.

The business offered an unfairly low price for a new device.

Business reply on Google

Hi Krystal, I'm sorry you had a poor experience with us! As far as the device in question goes, it was a 2024 iPad Air 11" M2 that was in used condition. Apple confirmed it had been activated in January and the device was fully set up with clear use. In addition, there is a new model (M3) that JUST released this week, meaning that this item is going to de-value within the next 1-2 weeks and sales will slow down as the market is flooded with them. Given all of this, we cannot in good faith buy this as a new item, and we have to consider that it is going to de-value quickly. At the end of the day, $200 cash is a fair offer based on other previous purchases and sales in our system that allows us to make some profit and account for possible loss. We are always willing to discuss the offer and our system does allow for some room on them, but you were unwilling to discuss and walked out of the store in anger as the offer was presented. Again, I'm sorry you were upset by our offer, but we are not scammers and do take many factors into consideration when making offers, including making enough to pay our staff, rent, and other bills so we can continue to provide this service to the communit
